Josh Ratiani

I married Julie in October of 2008. We have been foster parents since early 2015 and adopted our daughter in 2016.

I was born in Hawaii and lived there for 10 years until moving to Sonoma County, so I usually say Santa Rosa is my hometown. After moving away for college and thinking I would never end up here again, I felt God call me back to Sonoma County in 2007.

I love creative endeavors, mostly photography and making electronic music on my computer. I also enjoy the great outdoors--especially kayaking and hiking. Traveling new places is always fun. I spend a lot of time in my garden and playing with my daughter.

Renee and I married in 1981 in Honolulu, Hawaii, where we both grew up.  Renee and all of our children were born there.

I was born in Japan, and lived in 8 different places by 5th grade, but Honolulu was my hometown for 28 years, until God brought us to Sonoma County in 1994.  It wasn’t long before this became home; we love it here and can see staying here the rest of our lives.

If it has to do with water, I love it: sailing, canoeing, kayaking, boating, swimming, bodysurfing, snorkeling…  I don’t get in or on the water enough, but I still love it!  I also love electronic gadgets like computers and smartphones, and I find yardwork at home relaxing.

My #1 choice is worship music turned way up in the car. Hillsong United, Chris Tomlin, Paul Baloche, and David Crowder are all on the mp3 player in my phone.  I also like oldies from the 70’s, and much to my family’s chagrin, enjoy country music on the radio in my truck.

Life Scripture

1 Peter 4:11
If you speak, you should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.  If you serve, you should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.  To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
